Understanding Wegmans integration
Who this is for: Food and consumer goods suppliers shipping to Wegmans warehouses and stores, including Quick Response, direct store delivery and vendor-managed inventory suppliers.
Wegmans publishes a short, practical EDI page in the For Our Suppliers section of its website. Rather than one document set for everyone, it lists the transactions by flow. Warehouse suppliers use grocery (UCS) documents: the 875 purchase order, 856 ship notice and 880 invoice. Quick Response and direct store delivery suppliers use X12 documents: the 850, 856 and 810. Vendor-managed inventory suppliers to the warehouse exchange the 852, 855, 856 and 880.
Two details on the page matter for mapping. Wegmans purchase order numbers carry the week number in their first two digits, and the remaining four digits come from a sequence assigned to each vendor. Vendor-managed inventory suppliers receive sales and promotional logic every Monday on an 852, which Wegmans encourages in place of faxed data.
Certification runs on a third-party testing website for Wegmans after Wegmans approves you and your item data is aligned. Wegmans also asks suppliers to publish product data through the 1WorldSync data pool. This guide records what the pages say and when we checked, and lists what we could not confirm.
